dimensional (3-D) driver. Driver shall be detailed to include helmet,
shoulders, arms and steering wheel. Interior shall be mounted in the
original cockpit position at all times during qualifying and racing.
Interior shall be 100% opaque or fully painted.
During the event, drivers will be called to the starting line in pairs
and an additional pair will be called to the starting line for standby (on
deck). Once the starting line is clear, drivers will have 1 1/2 minutes
(90 seconds) to stage.
No one except the drivers are allowed in the area from the “Christmas”
tree to the starting line. The driver must set up and stage the car.
Children under 10 and handicapped participants may have assistance setting
up their car. The race director may modify this rule at his/her
discretion.
A car may be entered only once in any given class.
Driver shall enter no more than 2 cars. Track owner may modify this at
his/ her discretion without warning or advanced notification.
Any component, except the original chassis and body may be replaced at
any time. If significantly damaged, a body may be changed with approval of
the tech director. Switching of the original chassis is prohibited. IF a
driver is found to have switched a chassis, they will be disqualified from
the current and future events as determined by the race officials.
Any car determined to be a hazard to racers or spectators can be
disqualified from competition. A competitor with mechanical problems
during pre-staging may receive a one minute period in which to correct the
problem. Staging time will resume where the clock stopped once the 1
minute break period has expired. Proof of breakage must be presented to
the race director before a repair time is granted.
If a contestants cars is found to be under weight on the first
qualifying session, the contestant will be allowed to participate in a
second qualifying session. If light on both qualifying sessions, the
driver will go to the bottom of the ladder. If a contestant’s car is found
to be light during eliminations, the contestant is disqualified and
his/her opponent is given the win light if the opponent has staged a class
legal vehicle and received the start signal. If a driver is making a “bye”
run and is found light, they will lose lane choice for the next round.
In a situation where a driver is making a single run, they will be
considered the winner once the driver stages a class legal car and
receives the start signal. A driver may pass on the “bye” run but will
lose lane choice in the next round. Any car and or driver may disqualified
for rules infractions at any point during the event including bye or
single runs.
In any round of eliminations where there is an odd number of cars, bye
runs will be awarded according to official pairings for eliminations
determined bye the official ladder.
The race director is to determine pairings and bye runs in non
qualified fields.
Lane choice is determined by elapse times. The contestant with the best
qualifying E.T. gets first round lane choice. In subsequent rounds lane
choice goes to the lower E.T. of the pairing from the previous round.
Qualifying will consist of two rounds, one pass in each lane.
Qualifying attempts will not be re-run if a car does not register E.T. or
other data. The best E.T. will be recorded to determine qualifying and
starting position. Qualifying will be for a 16 car field regardless of how
many cars enter. A red-light infraction does not effect qualifying E.T. or
position.
Entry fees will not be refunded if a car does not qualify or pass
technical inspection.
Paradise Road uses a race voltage of 13.3 volts plus or minus .3 volts.
All racing and qualifying will be done under these conditions. Any records

manually actuating and/or delaying reaction times in the manner of
full-sized “Delay Box” or “Crossover box”. To this end, the race director
and/or tech inspector may require the disassembly of any box enclosing one
or more relays and it/their attendant batteries to determine compliance
with these rules.
All elimination runs are subject to the “First is worse” rule for
red light infraction. All other violations, the driver committing the
worst violation is eliminated.
Should a driver receive a red-light foul start, and the opposing driver
cross the boundary line or hit the side guard rail, the latter infraction
prevails and the driver committing the red-light start will be reinstated.
If one car crosses the center line and causes the other car to de-slot,
the car causing the crash will be disqualified. If the cause cannot be
determined, the race will be re-run.
If both cars de-slot independent of each other, the car crossing first
will be disqualified. As long as a car remains in its lane it will not be
disqualified.
If a car does not read through the sensors, all cars will be left
untouched until the race director makes a decision.
Guide flags may not be lengthened to gain performance advantage. Must
use a standard guide flag available through major distributors. Maximum
